P0107 code - with the ignition on, battery voltage greater than 10.4 volts. Set conditions, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects that the MAP sensor input voltage is below the minimum acceptable value. Default actions, the MIL Light will illuminate.
Possible causes:
- 5 Volt supply circuit open or shorted.
- MAP signal circuit shorted to ground.
- MAP signal circuit shorted to sensor ground circuit.
- MAP signal circuit open/high resistance.
- MAP sensor.
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
Diagnose code P0107-Manifold Absolute pressure sensor circuit low
Step 1. Check for an active DTC
Turn the ignition on, with the scan tool, read DTC.
Is the DTC active or pending ?
Yes, go to step 2.
No, perform the PCM intermittent condition.
Step 2. Check the 5 Volt supply circuit voltage
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the MAP sensor harness connector.
Turn the ignition on, measure the voltage on the 5 Volt supply circuit at the MAP sensor harness connector.
Turn the ignition on, measure the voltage on the 5 Volt supply circuit at the MAP sensor harness connector.
Is the voltage above 4.9 volts ?
Yes, go to step 3.
No, repair the 5 Volt supply circuit for an open circuit or short to ground.
Step 3. Check the MAP signal circuit for a short to ground
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector.
Check for continuity between ground and the MAP signal circuit at the MAP sensor harness connector.
Check for continuity between ground and the MAP signal circuit at the MAP sensor harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and the MAP signal circuit ?
Yes, repair the MAP signal circuit for a short to ground.
No, go to step 4.
Step 4. Check for the MAP signal circuit shorted to the sensor ground circuit
Check for continuity between the MAP signal circuit and the sensor ground circuit at the MAP sensor harness connector.
Is there continuity between the MAP signal circuit and the sensor ground circuit ?
Yes, repair the MAP signal circuit for a short to the sensor ground circuit.
No, go to step 5.
Step 5. Check the MAP signal circuit for an open/high resistance
Step 5. Check the MAP signal circuit for an open/high resistance
Measure the resistance of the MAP signal circuit between the MAP sensor harness connector and the PCM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms ?
Yes, go to step 6.
No, repair the MAP signal circuit for an open or high resistance.
Step 6. MAP sensor
Step 6. MAP sensor
Turn the ignition off.
Reconnect the PCM harness connector.
Connect a jumper between the 5 Volt supply circuit and the MAP signal circuit at the MAP sensor harness connector.
Turn the ignition on, with the scan tool, read the MAP sensor signal voltage.
Connect a jumper between the 5 Volt supply circuit and the MAP signal circuit at the MAP sensor harness connector.
Turn the ignition on, with the scan tool, read the MAP sensor signal voltage.
Is the voltage above 4.9 Volts with the jumper in place ?
Yes, replace the MAP sensor.
