U0100 Lost Communication With ECM/PCM ( In ORC/SRS Module)
U0100 code - When monitored this DTC with the ignition on, battery voltage between 10 and 16 volts, ignition Off Draw (IOD) fused installed. Set condition this DTC if the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) fails to receive bus messages from the ECM/PCM for approximately 500ms.
Possible causes U0100 code:
- CAN C Bus (+) circuit shorted to voltage
- CAN C Bus (-) circuit shorted to ground
- DTCa related to battery voltage, ignition, or VIN messages
- TIPM not configured correctly
- ECM/PCM power and ground
- Engine control module/PCM
- Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC)
Diagnostic test U0100 code
Verify diagnostic trouble code is active
Make sure the IOD fuse is installed and battery voltage is between 10 and 16 volts before proceeding. Turn the ignition on, with the scan tool read ORC DTCs.
Is the U0100 code active?
Yes, refer to DTC in the site TIPM DTC and perform the U0100 code diagnostic procedure.
No, refer to Non DTC diagnostic in the site and perform the stored lost communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.
