U0121 Lost Communication With Antilock Brake System (ABS) Control Module (In ORC/SRS module)
U0121 code - When monitored this DTC with the ignition on, battery voltage between 10 and 16 volts, ignition Off Draw (IOD) fused installed. Set condition this DTC if the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) Bus messages not received from the Antilock Brake Module (ABS) for approximately two to five seconds.
Possible causes U0121 code:
- CAN C Bus (+) circuit shorted to voltage
- CAN C Bus (-) circuit shorted to ground
- DTCa related to battery voltage, ignition, or VIN messages
- TIPM not configured correctly
- ABS Module power and ground
- ABS module
- Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC)
Diagnostic test U0121 code
Verify diagnostic trouble code is active
Make sure the IOD fuse is installed and battery voltage is between 10 and 16 volts before proceeding. Turn the ignition on, with the scan tool read ORC DTCs.
Is the U0121 code active?
Yes, refer to DTC in the site TIPM DTC and perform the U0121 code diagnostic procedure.
No, refer to Non DTC diagnostic in the site and perform the stored lost communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.
